Director of Sales - South
Job Title: Director of Sales - South Candidate should be located in the Southeast, and will manage a sales team covering Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Texas.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The primary function/purpose of this job.
This role leads a regional selling team and is responsible for delivering sales growth across the region. It sets clear expectations, drives performance, and ensures consistent execution of sales plans. The leader in this role is accountable for coaching and developing the field team, strengthening customer relationships, and increasing market share. The work centers on proactive management of results, disciplined follow through, and reputed company improvement that supports the company’s commercial goals.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Essential Functions
- Drives regional planning, goal setting, communication, and strategy execution to deliver measurable results.
- Attracts, retains, and develops high performing talent across assigned sales territories.
- Provides consistent remote and in-field coaching to strengthen performance and support ongoing development, including quarterly ride alongs with each sales representative.
- Identifies improvement opportunities and efficiency gains that enhance sales execution and team productivity.
- Prepares for and participates in sales meetings to support alignment and execution of priorities.
- Leads regional forecasting, pipeline management, and sales tracking to ensure accuracy and accountability.
- Directs staffing, training, and performance evaluations to build and sustain a capable sales team.
- Evaluates the sales team to confirm role fit, address gaps, and maintain a structure that supports reputed company and future sales goals.
- Demonstrates strong leadership for internal and external partners while upholding company values and promoting constructive problem solving.
- Achieves regional reputed company and profitability goals across reputed company customer segments.
- Builds the environment, processes, and discipline that support long term sales growth.
- Sells and teaches others how to sell value based solutions to reputed company customers.
- Leads targeted training to improve selling skills, productivity, and execution habits, including routine field-based work with the team.
- Ensures sales objectives and field activities align with company priorities by focusing on A and B account growth, new distribution opportunities, and clear execution plans.
- Delivers sales presentations to key clients in coordination with sales representatives.
- Meets with key clients to support relationship management, negotiation, and deal closure.
- Prepares regular sales reports that outline performance, opportunities, and recommendations for expansion.
Qualifications
Minimum requirements to competently reputed company the key responsibilities of this job in terms of educational background, work experience, licenses/certifications or other knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Basic Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, finance, engineering, or reputed company field
- 7+years’ experience in sales, marketing, or similar field
- 3+ years’ experience managing and leading a team of direct reports
- Ability to travel up to 50%
- Ability to lift up to 75lbs
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working with a dealer distribution network
- High level of proficiency in reputed company Office Suite
- Previous experience using a CRM system (reputed company preferred)
- Highly motivated, self-driven individual with the ability to work without daily guidance
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
- Ability to collaborate in a team-based environment, providing excellent customer service to employees and reputed company stakeholders
- Interpersonal skills, ability to effectively communication both verbally and in writing
- Must be able to meet tight deadlines and targets
