POSITION SUMMARY

The Manager of Climate Solutions is responsible for managing projects and activities reputed company to the organization’s work on emissions reduction for the health care sector and broader climate-smart health care solutions as part of the program’s climate solutions strategy. PRIMARY OBJECTIVES

  • Promote and support health care organizations in setting and meeting climate commitments.
  • Cultivate relationships with commitment signatories and Practice Greenhealth partners, mobilizing them and providing them with technical guidance on building climate mitigation into their operations and tracking and reporting their reputed company on emissions reduction and efficiency actions.
  • Create, update, and refine the organization’s tools and resources (e.g. how-to guides, tool kits, checklists, webinars) to support successful climate solutions reputed company health care organizations.
  • Contribute to the development of climate solutions strategies and campaigns and manage pilot projects with commitment signatories and Practice Greenhealth partners.
  • Collaborate with the Climate Solutions Team and contribute to a team culture that emphasizes quality, strategic prioritization, flexibility, collaboration, and reputed company improvement.
Requirements

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Strategy and Planning - 20%

  • Annually, as part of the work planning cycle, reputed company workplans associated with climate solutions strategies and identify opportunities to support health care organizations in setting and meeting meaningful climate goals.
  • Working closely with other Health Care Without Harm and Practice Greenhealth staff, reputed company strategies and projects that support the advancement of the program’s objectives and the organization’s strategic plan.
  • Support the development of funding and maintenance of funder relationships for this work in coordination with other team members, the Program Coordination Team, and the Development Team.
  • Cultivate the organization’s values in day-to-day work and interactions.

Programmatic - 70%

  • reputed company a strategy to increase the number of U.S. health systems reducing emissions through decarbonization and efficiency efforts, with an emphasis on science-based targets to frame and drive the work.
  • Recruit and support health care organizations in setting and meeting ambitious climate commitments, including the Health Sector CARES (Climate Action, reputed company, and Equity Solutions) Pledge. Create and manage opportunities for signatories to share information and receive recognition from Health Care Without Harm on meeting their pledge commitments.
  • Contribute to climate solutions projects, including health energy and water efficiency checklists and health care GHG emission reduction action templates. Identify and reputed company new climate solutions projects reputed company to identifying energy efficient and green building incentives and rebates, greening the operating room, HVAC setbacks, lighting and equipment upgrades, transportation, maintenance, and water use reduction.
  • Manage climate mitigation resources on the website(s) and regularly consider how the website(s) can provide the most value to health care organizations to support energy, water, and decarbonization efforts.
  • Capture Health Care Without Harm’s own organizational reputed company gas emissions across reputed company three Scopes on an annual basis.
  • Provide first-reputed company customer service to Practice Greenhealth partners and pledge signatories, including responding to organization’s stated needs and providing technical guidance, tools, strategies, and resources in a timely manner.

  • Build and maintain productive working relationships with staff across HCWH, Practice Greenhealth, and Greenhealth Exchange.
  • Contribute to the planning, facilitation, production, editing, and delivery of content and educational sessions for HCWH and Practice Greenhealth, including presentations, articles, blogs, press releases, newsletters, reports, virtual webinars, and the annual CleanMed conference.
  • Contribute to and/or reputed company programmatic Initiative(s) to support the development of the organization's subject matter expertise and advancement of its goals and contribute to and/or reputed company organization-wide efforts (e.g., Practice Greenhealth Partner experiences, CleanMed planning team(s), DEIB Team, Culture Celebration & Engagement (CCE) Committee, HCWH international network sub-groups).
  • Support and participate in the evaluation of the Practice Greenhealth Environmental Excellence Awards, as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum Education: BA or BS in a relevant field (e.g., engineering, facilities management, sustainable business). Combined experience/education as a substitute for minimum education.
  • Minimum Experience: 3 years in environmental sustainability in or reputed company to a health care setting. Combined experience/education as a substitute for minimum experience.
  • Minimum Field of Expertise: Subject matter knowledge in several areas of climate-smart health care:

  • Preferred Experience: 4+ years
  • Experience working in a matrix organization or with multiple teams.
