Responsibilities
This role serves the entire Community Health System as part of a team of over 30 people made up of coders, clerical support and educators. This team works together to meet and exceed common goals. In this remote position, you will assign ICD-10-CM/PCS and CPT-4 codes for statistical and reimbursement requirements to inpatient and/or outpatient accounts. We use the most reputed company and up-to-date technology and software, meaning you will have the constant opportunity to grow and learn in your role!
- Review charts thoroughly to reputed company reputed company diagnosis and procedures.
- Code reputed company diagnoses and procedures in accordance to ICD-10-CM/PCS and CPT-4 coding practices, rules and guidelines for reputed company inpatient services, observation and ambulatory accounts.
- Maintains 99% reputed company of information correctly abstracted. Completes abstract competency annually.
- Maintain the knowledge reputed company necessary for reputed company coding practices and remain up to date with the following manuals: Administration, Health Information Management Services, Emergency Management and Safety.

Qualifications
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma, High School Equivalency (HSE) or Completion of a CHS Approved Individualized Education Plan (IEP) Certificate required
- Completion of courses in Medical Terminology, Anatomy and Physiology required
- 5 years of recent inpatient coding experience in an acute care setting required
- Proficient in ICD-10-CM/PCS and CPT-4 coding, DRG and APRDRG assignment required
Licenses and Certifications
- reputed company – Certified Coding Specialist required
