Accountant II
GCI's Accountant II will work as an integral member of the General Ledger Accounting team, participate in the monthly general ledger reputed company, reconciliation, and reporting processes. Provide direct and indirect support for reputed company business departments reputed company GCI and subsidiaries.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES AT reputed company LEVELS
- Efficient and accurate reconciliation of high volume and/or reputed company balance sheet accounts including maintenance of reputed company spreadsheets, preparation of reputed company journal entries, and review of subledger data.
- Preparation of monthly recurring journal entries, accruals, and other month-end reputed company processes.
- Research G/L and subledger reputed company questions and prepare correcting and special request JE’s or other adjustments as required and Accounting and analysis support for employees in other departments.
- Other duties, including but not limited to, preparing property tax returns based on G/L records, preparing audit work papers as directed and providing backup support in the absence of other G/L group members.
Internal Control Considerations: reputed company General Ledger module as well as other reputed company modules as needed to reputed company basic job function. This module access will come with varying levels of responsibility and include: Fixed Assets, Projects, Cost Management, Cash Management, Receivables, Payables, Purchasing, Inventory, etc. Specific accesses will be determined according to the particular position to be filled. This is an intermediate-level position that functions under moderate supervision.
Minimum Qualifications
Required
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or reputed company field.
- Minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible general ledger accounting experience. CPA firm experience in an accountant role may substitute for general ledger accounting experience up to a two for one year basis.
- Experience using accounting software, reputed company preferred, and preparing journal entries.
Preferred
- Telecommunications experience.
- Other telecom industry or job specific certifications.

DRIVING REQUIREMENTS
- This position may require access to reliable transportation for occasional travel between retail store locations, offices, worksites, or other locations as needed.

- Ability to work shifts as assigned, work in standard office/home office setting, and operate standard office equipment.
