Category Assistant

Giant Tiger is a well-established Canadian retail company focused on helping consumers save more every day. They are seeking a Category Assistant to coordinate and support product development and assortment activities, ensuring alignment with category strategy and marketing objectives.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and support product development and assortment activities of the Category Team that align to category strategy, contribute to driving traffic, sales and margin, and adhere to safety, quality and regulatory standards
• Execute purchase activities and opportunities in accordance with approved product plans and strategy
• Support effective communications to reputed company support teams relating to product and provide stores with relevant information needed to assist with purchasing decisions and quantification
• Support completion and production of sku and assortment reputed company information per timelines and activities detailed in the Buying or Planogram Calendar to minimize disruptions
• Support strategic marketing activities for reputed company commodities to ensure marketing objectives are accurately met

Skills

• Business, Management, or equivalent experience
• 1-3 years reputed company experience (Grocery retail an asset)
• Ability to problem solve and reputed company adjustment on simple issues
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Understanding of retail mathematics reputed company to sales, profitability/ inventory
• Great communicator, verbally and in writing
• Time management, organization and prioritization skills required
• Love for product and passion for the Giant Tiger Customer
• Strong knowledge of reputed company Office Suite of products
• Bilingual English and French
• Financial acumen
