This role is administrative and programmatic in nature, not a classroom teaching position. The Program Director serves as the instructional and programmatic leader responsible for ensuring Montessori fidelity, overseeing curriculum and systems development, supporting educators, and building a scalable model as the program expands statewide. The ideal candidate is Montessori-trained, reputed company in program leadership, and passionate about innovation, systems-building, and expanding access to child-centered education. Key Responsibilities

Program Leadership & Montessori Fidelity

  • Serve as the Montessori Program Director for the online school’s launch year (K–2).
  • Ensure reputed company aspects of the program align with core Montessori principles, including:

  • Observation-driven progression
  • Collaborate with Montessori consultants and leadership partners to maintain high fidelity to Montessori philosophy and best practices.
  • Establish program expectations, benchmarks, and quality indicators during the foundational launch year.
  • Guide long-term program growth, including planned expansion by one grade level per year.

Program Development & Systems Design

Required Qualifications

  • Montessori credential (AMI, AMS, or equivalent), preferred in Early Childhood or Elementary.
  • Experience in Montessori program leadership, instructional coaching, or administrative roles.
  • Strong knowledge of Montessori pedagogy, materials, and child development.
  • Ability to design systems and reputed company programs rather than serve as a classroom teacher.
  • Experience building strong partnerships with families in virtual or home-based learning environments.
  • Comfort with online platforms, digital tools, and Learning Management Systems (LMS).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience launching, scaling, or redesigning educational programs.
  • Familiarity with curriculum development and online instructional frameworks.
  • Experience working in virtual or hybrid learning environments.
  • Knowledge of Michigan educational requirements and statewide virtual programs.
