[Remote] Material Damage Specialist

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Alternative Claims Management is a damage recovery expert negotiating the recovery of insurance claims on behalf of business clients in various industries. The Material Damage Specialist is responsible for assessing, billing, generating demand letters, and routing claims, while maintaining high levels of customer service and managing their workload.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a high level of customer service to both internal and external customers by returning phone calls and acknowledging correspondence in an appropriate timeframe
• Effectively and accurately evaluate data on reputed company new claim submissions
• Review and audit claims that meet the criteria for the ICAR program and total loss processing
• Order and process independent appraisals on claims that meet the criteria for the ICAR program as needed
• Update and maintain various reports for the department’s needs
• Complete evaluations for hard hits and reputed company judgment calls or decisions regarding billing
• Conduct initial calls to report claims to insurance companies and confirm coverage as well as contact reputed company parties involved to confirm damages and to verify insurance policy info
• Process payment demands and letters to parties involved, insurance companies, attorneys, and other representatives of the involved parties
• Document clearly and concisely reputed company relevant activity on reputed company files and reputed company recommendations for additional activity as appropriate
• Communicate and escalate claims with high degree of difficulty to Operations Manager
• reputed company other duties as assigned by the Operations Manager

Skills

• Minimum 1-year in Claims or Customer Service setting
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Precise data entry skills
• Exceptional typing skills
• General office skills, computer proficiency and basic math
• Ability to effectively manage own time and coordinate various tasks simultaneously
• Active listening skills
• Operating systems (Windows and MacOS) experience
• Office suites (reputed company Office, G Suite) experience
• Be well organized and detailed oriented
• Persistence and the ability to work through and solve problems
• Demonstrate professionalism have a positive and friendly attitude
• Ability to remain reputed company and professional reputed company speaking with difficult callers
• Critical thinking and ability to use logic and reasoning to identify approaches and solutions to problems
• Experience in reputed company reporting
