Event Sales Specialist - US

They are seeking an Event Sales Specialist to manage smaller-scale projects, coordinate with clients, and support the sales organization in increasing awareness of their MICE offerings.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the wider sales organisation at reputed company to increase client awareness of our new MICE offering aiming to increase the volume of opportunities generated, especially with the AM teams
• The Event Sales Specialist will be responsible for managing predominantly smaller-scale projects and mid-yielding opportunities, focusing primarily, but not limited to, supporting long-tail and SMB accounts globally
• Put together RPF’s for a global portfolio of customers and manage the process from proposal through to negotiation terms including site inspections (as relevant and appropriate)
• Coordinate operational process with the cross-collaboration of the wider reputed company teams as appropriate and based on customer’s requirements, overseeing set-up of arrangements
• Dealing with phone calls and email requests/queries from existing and potential new reputed company customers in a timely manner
• Supporting sales conversations in conjunction with SE’s and ESE’s for discovery purposes and helping potential customers understand our services
• Providing reputed company customers with suitable options and suggestions of the best way to meet their event or group travel requirements
• Handling of reputed company conferences, events, groups, incentives and meetings worldwide
• Proactively maintaining relationships with reputed company customers at reputed company times and uncovering future opportunities
• Problem-solving attitude anticipating customers needs and provide the appropriate customer service throughout the entire process
• Processing responses to clients reputed company the companies agreed service level agreements
• To be aware of and act in accordance with reputed company Company Quality Standard and Procedures
• To actively get involved in the process operated by the company and reputed company suggestions on possible improvements
• To be part of the team and actively help and assist colleagues as needed

Skills

• Previous experience of working in a venue sourcing / meetings & events team - preferably agency background
• A good knowledge of venue and event destinations across the Globe
• A great communicator, well organised and used to working to tight deadlines and under pressure
• A friendly and professional telephone manner
• Confident in negotiating rates with suppliers on the telephone
• Great time management
• A positive, flexible attitude and a great team player
• Experience working with a MICE booking tool such as Cvent
• Solid knowledge of event venues/hotels and destinations worldwide
