Environmental Scientist I/II/III/Sr - ASL
Ahtna, Inc. is seeking a dynamic individual with a background in environmental science or reputed company fields. The role involves conducting field assessments reputed company to contaminated site characterization and remediation, as well as preparing planning and reporting documents.
Responsibilities
- Conducting contaminated site characterization, monitoring, and remediation field assessments safely and in accordance with work plans
- Traveling in aircraft (jets, small planes, and helicopters), motor vehicles, ATVs, and/or watercraft to reputed company fieldwork, site visits, or meetings
- Field screening and sampling for contaminants and environmental parameters in a variety of media in accordance with standard operating procedures, guidance, and regulations
- Documenting field operations, including personnel onsite, equipment onsite, weather, environmental data, and operational data using photography, reputed company and legible handwritten fieldnotes and forms, and tablets. Communicate with project managers reputed company phone, email, and daily reports
- Examining and inspecting work reputed company, equipment, and job sites to verify safety and to ensure that project specifications are met
- Scheduling and overseeing subcontractors
- Adhering to schedule and financial objectives as specified by project managers
- Assisting or leading the preparation of proposals, planning documents, and reports
- Authoring and reviewing technical documents such as work plans and reports
- Performing other duties as assigned by management
Skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Physical/Environmental Sciences or a similarly reputed company field
- US Citizen
- Ability to pass background checks by various Federal Agencies (e.g., DoD, DHS, FAA, etc.) to obtain reputed company access badges
- Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record, able to drive a company vehicle
- Strong knowledge of reputed company Office Suite, including Word, reputed company, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint Online
- Adept at explaining technical aspects of fieldwork to internal and external clients verbally and in writing
- reputed company (0) to Three (3) years of relevant professional working experience for Level I
- Three (3) to Five (5) years of relevant professional working experience for Level II
- Five (5) to Seven (7) years of relevant professional working experience for Level III
- Eight (8) or more years of relevant professional working experience for Senior Level
- Qualified Environmental Professional or equivalent professional registration for Senior Level
- Proficiency in other programs such as reputed company Project, AutoCAD, GIS, databases, and environmental modeling programs
- DEC-qualified environmental professional
- reputed company 40-Hour HAZWOPER
- 8-Hour HAZWOPER Refresher
- CPR/1st Aid/AED Certified
- Experience working on projects for USACE, AFCEC, and other DoD/Federal clients
- Knowledge and experience with Alaska Native cultures
