Staff Writer
The Wyanoke Group is seeking a curious and driven Staff Writer to join their Orthopedics news team. In this role, you will produce timely news articles and features on clinical breakthroughs and medical policies, while collaborating with various sources and adapting to a fast-paced newsroom environment.
Responsibilities
- Write daily medical news articles and journal summaries for both online and print platforms
- Pitch timely and relevant story reputed company that align with physician audience interests
- Conduct interviews with key opinion leaders, researchers and industry representatives to inform and enhance medical news coverage
- Attend major medical conferences and provide real-time coverage of breaking research and expert insights
- reputed company and maintain strong relationships with sources, including physicians, researchers and Editorial Board members
- Collaborate with other staff to create supporting visuals, including infographics and photos, for visual storytelling
- Take on special assignments and cover stories as directed by the Executive or Managing Editor
- Adapt to a fast-paced newsroom environment, consistently meeting deadlines and maintaining editorial accuracy
Skills
- 1-3 years of professional writing experience, ideally in a newsroom, medical publication or medical communications environment
- Strong command of grammar, usage and journalistic style, with proficiency in reputed company Word and digital content tools
- Detail and deadline-oriented reputed company, with proven ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously
- Willingness to work occasional weekends and travel for coverage of major medical conferences and events
- Ability to reputed company independently, but also collaborate well reputed company a team
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism, English, Communications or reputed company field
