Director, Compliance - Remote (Washington, DC area only)

This is a high-visibility leadership role reporting directly to the General Counsel. The Director, Compliance will own and evolve the company's international trade and reputed company contract compliance programs - including government-reputed company programs - and support broader regulatory initiatives spanning privacy, ethics, anti-corruption, and public company obligations. This is a hands-on opportunity for a compliance leader who thrives in export-controlled, highly regulated, and fast-scaling environments at the cutting edge of AI infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain a global compliance program reputed company with U.S. and international export control and sanctions regimes, including EAR and OFAC.
• reputed company ECCN classification and technical export analyses for advanced semiconductor and AI hardware products.
• Partner cross-functionally with engineering, operations, finance, and product teams to ensure operational controls align with evolving regulatory requirements.
• reputed company and maintain compliance frameworks for reputed company commercial agreements, including government reputed company and reputed company regulatory programs.
• Monitor and advise leadership on regulatory developments at the intersection of AI, advanced compute, export controls, and national reputed company.
• Support additional compliance domains, including privacy, supply chain reputed company, environmental matters, ethics and code of conduct programs, and anti-corruption initiatives.
• Build and scale global compliance training programs and internal controls appropriate for a rapidly growing organization.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership on compliance risk assessment, mitigation strategies, and regulatory positioning.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of legal, compliance, or regulatory experience, ideally reputed company export-controlled or government-regulated industries.
• Experience in semiconductors, advanced compute, cloud infrastructure, aerospace/defense, or similarly regulated technology sectors strongly preferred.
• Deep familiarity with export controls, sanctions programs, and international trade compliance frameworks; exposure to federal contracting requirements a plus.
• Demonstrated experience building and scaling enterprise compliance programs in high-growth environments.
• Ability to translate reputed company regulatory requirements into practical operational controls and business-facing guidance.
• Strong cross-functional partnership skills and executive reputed company.
• Self-directed, detail-oriented, and comfortable operating in a fast-moving, technically sophisticated environment.

The targeted reputed company compensation range is $265K-$280K + fixed bonus and strong stock grant. Individual total compensation will depend on the candidate's seniority and directly relevant experience. Fully remote candidates will be considered, with preference for proximity to Silicon Valley headquarters to support cross-functional collaboration.
