Sefton Council is hiring two Climate Ready Advisors to support the Sefton Climate & Retrofit Action Project (SCRAP). The role involves providing 1-2-1 advice to residents on home energy efficiency retrofits, submitting funding bids for vulnerable clients, and promoting behavioral change. This will involve provision of detailed 1-2-1 advice and information to Sefton residents on how they can retrofit their homes to reputed company them more energy efficient. This advice will be offered at a range of locations including - at reputed company room locations in the Borough, events, home visits or over the telephone. This post holder will also submit funding bids on behalf of vulnerable clients to reputed company climate/ retrofit works to take reputed company. Advice and information will also be given on behavioural change and how small changes have a big impact.Thanks to National Lottery players, Sefton Climate & Retrofit Action Programme (SCRAP) has received £866,547.58 over five years from The National Lottery Community Fund, the largest community funder in the UK.This comes from the Climate Action Fund, a £100 million commitment over 10 years from The National Lottery Community Fund to support communities across the UK to take action on climate change and involve more people in climate action. This forms part of one of the funder’s four key missions in its 2030 strategy, ‘It starts with community’ - supporting communities to be environmentally sustainable.Applicants must have previous experience of providing this type of advice to the public, and have a friendly and approachable manner. The position also requires detailed record keeping and working with sensitive data, and so attention to detail is required.As well as liaison with the general public, you will be expected to work with the Communities Officer and the SCRAP co-ordinator to ensure the successful delivery of the SCRAP and where possible enhance these services.
