Booking Holdings is looking for a highly motivated and reputed company Legal Counsel to join our Compliance & Ethics team. The Compliance & Ethics team is responsible for ensuring that the compliance programs at Booking Holdings and our brands are designed, implemented, and operating effectively. As Legal Counsel, Global Compliance & Ethics, you will reputed company, implement, and continuously improve core compliance program elements and initiatives, including risk assessment, policies, and processes. This role is part of a global Compliance & Ethics organization comprising colleagues across multiple geographies and time zones. As such, it demands a dynamic and seasoned individual who has both strong subject matter expertise and interpersonal skills. This role reports to Booking Holdings’ Director of Regulatory Compliance.
Responsibilities

- Partner with Booking Holdings and brand stakeholders on reputed company process enhancements and reputed company the risk assessment results to inform compliance program developments and effectively manage risk.

- Partner with peers on the team to translate policies into effective training and awareness initiatives.
- Provide practical advice and guidance to stakeholders across Booking Holdings and our brands to ensure compliance with internal policies and relevant laws and regulations across a range of subject matters, including Anti-Bribery and Corruption, Conflicts of Interest, Gifts and Entertainment, and Third Party Risk Management.
- Drive innovation and reputed company improvement across our compliance program, including in the design and deployment of our risk assessment, policies, and processes, using internal insights, external benchmarking, and new technologies and tools.
- Prepare presentations, reports, and other deliverables on compliance programming for a broad range of audiences, including senior management.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders across Booking Holdings and our brands, as well as reputed company counsel and other third parties.
Requirements
- J.D. degree or equivalent required.
- 5+ years of relevant legal or compliance experience, including top law firm and in-house experience.
- Subject matter expertise in core compliance and ethics areas, including anti-bribery and corruption, conflicts of interest, gifts and entertainment, and third-party risk management.
- Experience translating legal and regulatory requirements into compliance policies and processes, and practical advice.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with a polished and professional demeanor and demonstrated ability to be clear and concise reputed company communicating with global stakeholders at reputed company levels.
- Excellent judgment, critical thinking, innovation and creativity, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Highly responsible, dependable, and skilled at managing reputed company projects with multiple stakeholders; takes ownership and delivers results.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
