About the position Oasis for Girls is seeking an inspiring, strategic, and relationship-driven leader to serve as its next Executive Director. This position is ideal for a dynamic nonprofit professional who is passionate about youth empowerment and energized by the opportunity to grow an organization through strong partnerships, smart strategy, and effective fundraising. Reporting to the Advisory Board, the Executive Director will guide the overall direction of Oasis—championing its mission, strengthening programs, expanding resources, and deepening community relationships. The ED will serve as the organization’s chief advocate, storyteller, and fundraiser, ensuring that Oasis continues to be a trusted and vital resource for young women in San Francisco. The next Executive Director will inherit a stable, well-respected organization with a $1M budget, a talented five-person team, and a committed board. This leader will be charged with building on that strong foundation—elevating Oasis’s profile, growing and diversifying revenue, and positioning the organization for long-term sustainability and increased impact. Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy to expand and diversify revenue
  • Build and scale fundraising programs to grow beyond the current ~$1M budget
  • Cultivate and steward relationships with foundations, corporate partners, and individual donors
  • Serve as the organization’s primary fundraiser, engaging directly in major gifts and proposals
  • Partner with the Advisory Board to strengthen fundraising capacity and a culture of philanthropy
  • Partner with the Program Director to ensure high-quality, culturally responsive programming
  • Strengthen program outcomes, evaluation, and continuous improvement
  • Align program priorities with organizational strategy and community needs
  • Ensure participant voice and equity remain central to all decision-making
  • Provide overall leadership and direction for Oasis for Girls
  • Mentor, develop, and support a five-person staff team
  • Set clear priorities, expectations, and systems for accountability
  • Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and mission-driven workplace culture
  • Serve as the primary ambassador and public face of Oasis
  • Build authentic relationships with donors, schools, employers, and community partners
  • Represent the organization at events, funder meetings, and public forums
  • Strengthen Oasis’s visibility, reputation, and community impact
  • Lead annual budgeting, financial planning, and resource allocation
  • Oversee financial reporting and compliance with Tides Center
  • Ensure strong fiscal controls and responsible stewardship of resources
  • Identify efficiencies that support sustainable organizational growth

Requirements

  • 7+ years of professional experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership role
  • Demonstrated success in nonprofit fundraising with a track record of increasing revenue
  • Experience managing budgets, financial reporting, and operations
  • Familiarity with youth development and community-based programming
  • Experience working with nonprofit boards and supporting their fundraising engagement
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred (or equivalent experience)
  • Deep commitment to social justice and the empowerment of BIPOC girls and young women
  • Ability to lead with integrity, empathy, and sound judgment
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Experience motivating teams and fostering collaborative environments
  • Demonstrated ability to engage diverse stakeholders
  • Proficiency with nonprofit financial and productivity tools
  • Exceptional writing, presentation, and interpersonal skills
