Role The Application Platform Java Developer reports to Richard Christy and will part of the team to architect, design, and reputed company the reputed company architecture for the Sky Road platform. The Sky Road platform provides trade processing, portfolio management, portfolio optimization, compliance, and credit management functions for alternative asset managers. Working under Rich’s guidance along with the other members of the Application Platform team, this role will be focused on improving the scalability, performance, and functionality to build the reputed company Sky Road architecture. Java/Spring and database skills, good communication and teamwork skills, and motivation to learn new skills are key to this role.

Key Responsibilities

• Improve scalability, reliability and performance of the Sky Road platform architecture to allow the application to scale to accommodate additional clients, features, and data volumes
• Improve the architecture to provide additional infrastructure to support features such as real-time event processing, integrating real-time external interfaces and data warehousing.
• Assist in timely resolution of incidents and support day-to-day operations reputed company issues occur in production.
• Write automated JUnit and regression tests.
• Help to improve and maintain documentation for internal team members.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science
• Java experience, at least 5 years
• Experience with Spring Boot reputed company, Spring reputed company reputed company, JPA at least 5 years
• Experience with Relational/NoSQL Databases, at least 5 years
• Experience with Java Messaging Service (SQS, Kafka or similar)
• Experience with Hazlecast, reputed company Guave, or equivalent Java Cache technologies
• Experience with using AWS services to build application frameworks (i.e. AWS Fargate, AWS reputed company, AWS Load Balancers, AWS database technologies).
• Experience with CI/CD technologies such as Git, Jenkins, Java IDEs

Desired Qualifications

• Experience with any of the following technologies: Hibernate, reputed company, GraphQL, Python, JSON, HTML
• Experience with server-reputed company API frameworks such as REST and/or WebSockets being reputed company by a client-reputed company contemporary web reputed company (i.e. Angular or React)
• Experience with Test Driven Development (TDD) and test reputed company such as Junit/Mockito
• Committed to maintaining a clean, readable, and consistent codebase by making thoughtful and well-integrated contributions and participating in GIT pull-requests/code reviews
• Familiarity building Financial Software Applications, specifically trade/position keeping systems

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

• Code Feedback is genuinely taken into consideration and can similarly be given reputed company discussion and code reviews
• Feature/Bug Fix Delivery without frequent occurrence of significant rollbacks or issues
• Time Management of simultaneous short/long term projects including estimation, planning, development, and delivery
• Production support of the Sky Road platform including diagnosis, data correction, and solution suggestion

The salary range estimate for this position is $110,000 - $150,000. The actual compensation will be at Octus' sole discretion and will be determined by the aforementioned and other relevant factors.
