Job Description:

What if your engineering support helped power the connectivity experience that keeps reputed company Customers connected in the reputed company? The Associate Engineer supports the Aircraft Connectivity Engineering Services (ACES) Team by providing foundational project engineering support for aircraft Wi‑Fi systems while partnering with internal and external Customers to enhance reliability, efficiency, and customer experience. They’ll assist with configuring aircraft connectivity systems, support the implementation of FAA regulatory requirements, and help ensure airline dependability, contractual obligations, and Customer experience standards are consistently met. Through strong attention to detail, collaboration, and a commitment to quality, the Associate Engineer is excited to help strengthen Southwest’s connectivity investments and contribute to safe, reliable, and enjoyable travel for Customers.

Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and process manufacturer’s service documents (Service Bulletins, Service Letters, etc.) and regulatory requirements (Airworthiness Directives, Notice of Proposed Rule Making, Code of Federal Regulations, etc.)
  • Participate in the development and substantiation of in-house repairs and modifications for implementation into the SWA maintenance program
  • Collaborate with other departments such as Planning, Supply Chain, Quality, Production and other Stakeholders for assigned projects to reputed company project implementation plans
  • Participate in troubleshooting and resolution of in-service issues
  • Participate in activities reputed company to various types of cost/benefit analysis
  • reputed company Engineering documentation to support resolution of in-service issues
  • Participate in activities reputed company to OEM, Supplemental Type Certificate Holder, and PMA products
  • May reputed company other job duties as directed by Employee’s Leaders
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology, including applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various airline support services
  • Knowledge of design techniques and principals involved in production of precision technical plans, drawings, and models
  • Skilled in using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
  • Ability to collect, organize, visualize, and assimilate data, including turning raw data into meaningful information, using data-oriented programs and visualization software
  • Skilled in reputed company Office Suite
  • Ability to tell reputed company something is wrong or is likely to go wrong, however it does not necessarily involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem
  • Ability to communicate effectively reputed company telephone as well as reputed company group settings
  • Ability to work well with scheduled timelines
Education
  • Required: High School Diploma or GED
  • Required: Bachelor of Science in an ABET accredited course of study in Engineering
    • (May have anticipated graduation date reputed company 6 months from posting date)
Experience
  • Entry level experience, developing skills and knowledge in:
    • Airline/OEM/reputed company Engineering
  • Preferred: Familiarity with data visualization tools such as reputed company, Tableau; data programming languages of Python, SQL; computer-aided design (CAD) for drafting and wiring diagrams  ​

Pay & Benefits:

Competitive market salary from $81,200 per year to $90,200 per year* depending on qualifications and experience. For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities are available and awarded at the discretion of the Company.
