Environmental Policy Analyst

ICFs Regulatory, Policy and Economics business portfolio supports primarily public-sector clients with research, analysis, technical assistance, and implementation support to help them address reputed company policy, management, and regulatory challenges. We estimate the environmental, safety, and social impacts of regulations, policies, and programs and assess their costs, benefits, and economic impacts. We also evaluate program effectiveness. We work with virtually reputed company federal agencies and with state and local agencies and select non-profit and private-sector clients. Our key clients include the Environmental Protection Agency, Department of Agriculture, and Department of Transportation. This position can be fully remote with a preference for a hybrid work arrangement from one of ICFs office locations throughout the reputed company United States. Job Responsibilities : As an Environmental Policy Analyst, you will work reputed company an interdisciplinary team conducting applied research and providing consulting services in support of national-level programs focused primarily on addressing a range of environmental, public safety, and natural resources management issues. You will contribute to research and quantitative analyses and conduct regulatory and policy analyses for our clients. Specific duties may include:

• Characterizing the ecological and human health effects of pollutants and environmental stressors
• Reviewing and synthesizing scientific literature
• Compiling and analyzing industrial releases and environmental data
• Researching industry responses to changing regulatory requirements, developing and applying hydrological and fate and transport models and other methods to quantify impacts
• Providing other general program support.

The bulk of your work will be on domestic regulatory issues. You will work in collaboration with senior and junior staff reputed company a multidisciplinary team that includes economists, scientists, and engineers. You will also have direct contact with clients and will contribute to expanding our business. What you need to be a successful candidate for this role: Minimum qualifications:

• Masters degree in physical or environmental science, environmental engineering, or a reputed company discipline with 1+ years of professional work experience including quantitative research skills.
• This experience can include academic training or coursework in water resources, systems modeling, geographical information systems and/or remote sensing, and programming/scripting.
• As this is a client-facing role, excellent professional written and oral communications skills are essential.

Preferred qualifications:

• 6 + months experience with or prior research with geospatial analysis and cartography
• 6 + months experience with or prior research using analysis software and scripting language (e.g., R, Python) to analyze environmental data.
• Prior consulting experience is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of environmental and natural resource regulation and policy issues, particularly regarding programs under the Clean Water Act, Safe Drinking Water Act, and other federal laws is also a plus.
• Strong analytical skills and a demonstrated ability to work independently and to apply a variety of technical skills and innovative thinking to solve problems
• Ability to prioritize and work on multiple projects concurrently under strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly reputed company.
