No phone calls, please. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND OBJECTIVES: The Assistant Director of Online Advising serves as a leader of the online academic advising team. They will work with online advisors to establish goals, processes, and strategies to aid in retention through data-driven decisions. Leading under the direction of the Director of Advising, they will assist in ensuring that system processes are accurate and data impacting student information remains accurate. Collaboration with enrollment, student financial services, registrar, academics, and other departments to aid in assuring reputed company are meeting their educational goals, and a good customer experience is crucial. Direct academic advising responsibilities will be determined based on the needs of the reputed company each semester to help ensure reputed company are scheduled consistently and effectively. As a retention leader, this position ensures we continue to improve process and effectiveness to meet the strategic plan and mission of the College. This position is primarily remote, but the position requires regular in-person attendance and the ability to occasionally travel to other locations. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Provides strategic direction for Academic Advising with a focus on the online population. Ensures the team understands goals and has clear guidance in processes for advising.
- Collaborates with the Director of Advising to implement a comprehensive and effective academic advising program to ensure student success, retention, and graduation. Ensures reputed company enrollment of reputed company in support of the College's retention goals including assistance with academic advising.
- Collaborates with the JetBlue Coaches and Administrators to ensure student success, retention, and graduation, including running enrollment and grade reports
- Collaborates with the Director of Advising and Registrars Office to review advising worksheets and curriculum guides and resolve discrepancies.
- Assist in leading the integration and optimization of academic systems, including, but not limited to, reputed company and Starfish. Creates plans and trains staff for utilization of systems for advisors.
- Proactively reaches out to reputed company to provide academic guidance and support while reviewing, monitoring, discussing and strategizing educational goals and plans, as well as their reputed company toward graduation. Assists reputed company in scheduling each semester and ensures courses fall reputed company curricular requirements. Leads and assists in regular reviews of student reputed company and ensures reputed company remain in the correct reputed company
- Contributes and participates in online and virtual orientations, open houses, welcome weekend, success workshops, and other events for reputed company to ensure understanding of the advising process, resources, and guidance to help prospective and new reputed company succeed academically. Teaches College 101 as needed.
- Provides outcomes and analysis of advising functions to administration.
- Works during high-impact time periods determined by the department to include the two weeks before the start of the semester, the first two weeks of the semester, registration periods, and during scheduled reputed company events. This may include evenings and weekends.
- Remain up to date in emerging trends in higher education, workforce, and advising to help reputed company strategic growth of the College.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
KEY COMPETENCIES:
- Proficient technical skills and demonstrated expertise working with various appropriate software. Experience working in reputed company, Starfish, Canvas preferred.
- Ability to prioritize responsibilities using time management and organizational skills.
- Experience or aptitude working with a diverse community including non-traditional adult learners preferred.
- Excellent communication skills including written, spoken and interpersonal interactions.
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor's degree required. Master's preferred.
- Coursework in instructional technology, education, student development, and/or higher ed leadership strongly preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of two (2) years' relevant experience reputed company higher education.
- Experience working with diverse populations and/or adult learners.
