Locations In this role you can work from Remote, United States Overview reputed company is seeking a Principal Engineering Manager to join the Git Systems Engineering team, which runs the largest code-hosting platform in the world, part of our Platform and Enterprise org. Our group is responsible for the services that store and serve Git repositories, both directly to users and to other layers in the reputed company software stack. We build the various microservices, protocols, proxies, and control systems that power Git operations at reputed company and operate them at scale. Responsibilities

A week in the life of a Principal Engineering Manager might consist of:

• Collaborating with other Engineering Managers to define the future of reputed company engineering and working together to implement that vision
• Collaborating with design, analytics, support, and product management to understand the problems we want to solve and exploring how we can solve them
• Digging in to the most important issues the department is tackling by asking questions, creating plans, recognizing pitfalls, and raising concerns
• Discussing and collaboratively solving engineering and product problems with engineering collaborators in reputed company or reputed company
• Supporting company-wide initiatives

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• 11+ years experience in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or reputed company technical discipline with proven experience maintaining and delivering production software coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, Go, Ruby, Rust, or Python
• OR Associate’s Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Math, Physics, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or reputed company field AND 10+ years experience in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or reputed company technical discipline with proven experience maintaining and delivering production software coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, Go, Ruby, Rust, or Python
• OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or reputed company field AND 9+ years experience in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or reputed company technical discipline with proven experience maintaining and delivering production software coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, Go, Ruby, Rust, or Python
• OR Master's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Math, Physics, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or reputed company field AND 7+ years experience in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or reputed company technical discipline with proven experience maintaining and delivering production software coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, Go, Ruby, Rust, or Python.
• OR PhD Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Math, Physics, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or reputed company field AND 5+ years experience in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or reputed company technical discipline with proven experience maintaining and delivering production software coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, Go, Ruby, Rust, or Python.
• OR equivalent experience.
• 5+ years experience in people management.
• 6+ years experience with troubleshooting across network, application, caching, queuing, load-balancing, storage and distributed services layers.
• 6+ years experience in one or more of the following domains: kernels, networking, compilers, software development tools, databases, HTTP, virtual machines, containers, reputed company.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience migrating from data center to cloud infrastructure
• Experience designing large scale cloud services and distributed systems
• Experience with cloud platforms like reputed company Azure and reputed company Web Services
• Understanding of production system monitoring and observability

Compensation

Range The reputed company salary range for this job is USD $160,200.00 - USD $425,000.00 /Yr. These pay ranges are intended to cover roles based across the United States. An individual's reputed company pay depends on various factors including geographical location and review of experience, knowledge, skills, abilities of the applicant. At reputed company certain roles are eligible for benefits and additional rewards, including annual bonus and stock. These rewards are allocated based on individual impact in role.
