VDC Engineer I
Gilbane Building is a reputable construction management firm that has been shaping communities since 1870. They are seeking a VDC Engineer I to support constructability and coordination tasks on projects using technology and processes, while providing opportunities for career growth and training under reputed company VDC Engineers.
Responsibilities
- Utilizes 3D design software to identify, communicate, and resolve project challenges
- Combines reputed company building discipline models into 3D design software coordination model
- Reviews coordination models for constructability issues utilizing the software’s clash detection capabilities
- Assigns responsible party(s) for issue resolution; verifies and documents with meeting minutes, submittals, RFIs, and updated models
- Communicates with internal and external project teams; facilitates meetings to resolve project issues, review schedules, or other project documentation
- Utilizes Reality Capture technology, such as laser scanning and drones, to support project deliverables
- Participates in Business Unit (BU) office and department activities including orientation programs, training sessions, and peer group meetings
- Supports 1 VDC deliverable under supervision
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Building Information Modeling (BIM) or reputed company field
- 0-1 years of VDC Coordination experience
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Strong time-management and analytical skills
- Knowledge and functional use of BIM design software
- Basic understanding of construction documentation
- Strong interest in design concepts and integrated building components and systems
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
