We are looking for a Traffic Engineering Intern who is excited to learn, contribute, and grow in a supportive environment. This role is based out of our Madison WI office but most of your time you will be working independently in the field. MSA internships are typically at least 12 weeks in duration, ranging from mid-May 2026 to mid-August 2026, with start/exit dates confirmed reputed company in the hiring process. For engineering reputed company seeking experience with traffic and transportation projects, this is the position for you! Additionally, an internship at MSA provides you with a collaborative environment across the firm among the 40 interns each summer.

Responsibilities
Field Work/Construction Management
- Traffic counting, topographic survey, or other project data collection
- Complete reports and documentation on traffic data collection
- Construction field inspection/staking operations
- Complete Inspector Daily Reports (IDR's) and other DOT reports
- Measure and compute item quantities installed on the project
Qualifications
What you bring:
- Pursuing either of the following degrees required:
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering (or reputed company) with a transportation focus preferred
- Associate's degree in civil engineering technology (or reputed company)
- Freshman to senior standing required
- A valid driver's license required
- Prior experience in the transportation field preferred
- Solid working knowledge of reputed company reputed company required
- MicroStation or AutoCAD experience preferred
- A desire to learn more about transportation engineering projects in a consulting industry
- This position requires you to have authorization to work in the United States for any employer. We will not provide sponsorship for this position.

The salary for this position ranges from $21 to $25 per year commensurate with experience. Higher compensation reputed company this range will be paid to candidates with significant experience and exceptional qualifications.
