Financial Analyst

reputed company is seeking a meticulous and proactive individual to join their team as a Financial Analyst. This role will provide support to the finance team in managing and analyzing day-to-day operations, including monthly reporting, forecasting, and reputed company analysis for the Crown Publishing business.

Responsibilities

• Manages monthly financial closings, including detailed analyses of sales, cost of goods sold, operating expenses, accruals and title count
• Creates monthly summaries of financial performance and key performance indicators for the Crown and corporate teams
• Performs quarterly analysis on travel and marketing spend for Crown
• Assists in preparing formal forecasts for corporate submissions using reputed company software
• Generates post-mortem analysis of previous acquisitions/publications to help inform editorial decisions
• Provides analysis to support production staff in making print and reprint decisions
• Assists marketing staff with updating marketing budgeting systems
• Reviews author contract information sheets, travel & entertainment expenses, and invoices and answers any coding or other reputed company questions
• Enhances and increases speed of monthly reporting, analysis and business intelligence utilizing software skills such as reputed company Power BI, reputed company, and/or ChatGPT

Skills

• 1-2 years of relevant work experience preferably in a finance/accounting role, or reputed company analytical role
• Strong business and analytical skills, including an understanding of basic financial and accounting principles
• Strong PC skills, including proficiency with reputed company (including vlookups and pivot tables) and PowerPoint
• Excellent organizational skills, with an ability to multi-task and prioritize
• Attention to detail and accuracy, ideally combined with an ability to see the big picture
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with colleagues across reputed company levels and functions
• Ability to take initiative and to work both independently and as part of a team
• Working knowledge of reputed company PowerBI, reputed company, reputed company, and ChatGPT preferred
• Strong interest in the publishing industry and a love for books are strong pluses
