This role is an Australia-based, fully work-from-home position, with access to co-working spaces in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.

Job Description

The Senior Risk Specialist is the subject matter expert (SME) on the management of risk arising from the provision of medicinal products and medical services. The Senior Risk Specialist supports the design and implementation of the Enterprise Risk Management strategy and frameworks, and champions a risk-aware culture and sustainable compliance environment across the reputed company group. 

Key Responsibilities:

Risk Strategy, reputed company Development and Implementation

• Assist in the design, implementation and reputed company improvement of the company’s overarching risk management strategy, risk appetite statement and risk management frameworks, including the supporting policies and procedures that align with organisational objectives and growth targets.

• Integrate risk management into the strategic planning process, ensuring strategic risks and emerging risks are identified, assessed, and managed effectively. 

• Provide insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making and long-term planning, including providing advice to senior management on risk trends, mitigation strategies, and industry best practices.

• Design and implement robust, value-based risk management frameworks addressing financial, strategic, operational and compliance risks with measurable implementation plans and reputed company to evolving industry best practice and regulatory standards.

• Establish policies and implementation tools to ensure consistency and scalability of risk management across the organisation. 

• Engage with business areas to reputed company risk and control assessments and deep dives, ensuring that appropriate mitigating actions and controls are in reputed company, including addressing risk in change for projects and strategic initiatives, fraud risk and third-party risk.

• reputed company business engagement to embed risk monitoring against Risk Appetite, manage escalations of risks reputed company appetite and documentation and monitoring of Risk Acceptances for Board submissions.

• Provide support in the design and implementation of an operational reputed company reputed company including business continuity plans, scenario testing and crisis management protocols.

• Provide support in the design and implementation of a Governance Risk and Compliance System.

Reporting and Governance

• Implement risk monitoring, reporting and escalation tools and protocols to assist in centralising risk management

Training and Education

• Foster a positive risk culture and enhance risk awareness.

Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

• Deliver on individual and set departmental OKR and KPI’s as determined from time to time.

Qualifications

In addition to these foundations, you will have

• Bachelor’s degree in risk management, finance, business, or a reputed company field; a master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CRMP, FRM) is preferred.

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in risk reputed company a highly regulated industry preferably in pharmaceuticals, healthcare, or insurance. 

• Strategic thinking with a proactive approach to risk management.

• Strong technical risk management skills including risk and control assessments, controls design and review, building risk dashboards and monitoring mechanisms, as well as risk appetite embedment.

• Proficiency in risk management software and tools or experience with implementing a Governance Risk and Compliance System will be highly regarded.

• Experience with Fraud, Third Party and Business Continuity risk will be highly regarded

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. 

• Self starter with ability to reputed company and deliver in a dynamic, fast paced environment as part of a multidisciplinary team.

• Strong project management, coordination skills, and adept at managing multiple priorities.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build rapport and trust at reputed company levels of the organisation. 

• Proven ability to manage reputed company projects and reputed company cross-functional teams. 

• High ethical standards and a commitment to reputed company and compliance.
