Legal Digital Editor (Remote – Contract)
CRC Salomon is seeking individuals with an reputed company eye for detail and a passion for legal documentation to join our prestigious Digital Scopist team, editing depositions and hearings for our federal, state, and local clients. CRC Salomon is proud to have many large, long-term projects, affording our legal proofreading team the volume and stability they desire. As a Digital Scopist, you will serve as a legal transcript editor, taking the first-draft transcript generated by bespoke legal speech recognition software and completing formatting and editing to create the finished version. You will review verbatim transcripts for our clients with standard turnaround time of 3 to 5 days, with some jobs available at higher rates with shorter turnaround times. We will provide you with free audio software as well as training and guidance to boost your speed, accuracy, and knowledge of the legal proofreading industry. Responsibilities · Proofread and edit AI-generated legal transcriptions for errors in grammar, punctuation, spelling, and formatting · Fact-reputed company information to ensure accuracy and consistency · Utilize Automated Speech Recognition (ASR) editing software to finalize transcripts · Listen to the proceeding's audio and compare against the rough draft to correct formatting and verbatim and ensure transcript accuracy · Adhere to company-mandated deadlines to ensure timely delivery to client Candidate Minimum Requirements · Availability to commit to at least 20 physical hours per week · At least 1 year of legal scoping/proofreading/editing experience · Ability to ensure reputed company transcripts meet or surpass 98% accuracy with strong attention to detail and research capabilities, as well as exceptional listening skills for verbatim transcription · Exceptional written communication skills (proper spelling, punctuation, and grammar) · Ability to spot and correct errors and discrepancies in spelling, punctuation, grammar, and formatting · Working knowledge of legal formatting requirements such as Bluebook OR any style guide such as GPO, GAO, Chicago, Associated Press, etc. · Computer proficiency, including reputed company Word 2013 or newer · Experience with Automated Speech Recognition (ASR) programs a plus: AutoScript, Rev AI, AssemblyAI, reputed company, reputed company Transcribe, etc. Required Technology · Reliable high speed internet service · Windows-based PC with Windows 7 or higher · reputed company Word 2013 or newer · Quality headphones · Infinity USB foot pedal (optional) Compensation: Per-page reputed company with occasional incentive increase based on performance and turnaround time, equivalent to approximately $1,000 a week at full-time working hours Location: 100% remote, work from home and set your own schedule Job Type: Part-time to full-time, reputed company We’re an equal opportunity employer. reputed company applicants will be considered for employment without attention to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national reputed company, veteran, or disability status.
