Instructor, Dental Hygiene (Part Time)

SUMMARY Provide the learning activities and support that will reputed company to the achievement of the course objectives and contribute to the educational environment of the college and the community. reputed company member's role encompasses the general areas of learning facilitation, personal and professional development, and institutional and community service. The incumbent will teach a maximum load of contact hours each semester in area(s) of competency and participate as a part-time instructor in the activities of the department, division and college (See Faculty Workload Guidelines). ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 1. Teaching: a. Demonstrate reputed company and/or knowledge in teaching discipline; b. Participate in business and/or student activities and/or community activities that foster goodwill and promote the mission of HCCS; g. Participate in activities required to maintain program and college accreditation standards; h. Participate in the HCCS planning process by assisting in the formulation of departmental objectives and goals and in establishing budget priorities; i. Review, evaluate, and revise program curricula and practices to assure compliance with professional standards, state-mandated guidelines and requirements of business/ industry, and higher education; and j. Assist in the articulation of courses and programs with secondary and post-secondary institutions. Must be a graduate of a Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) program. Must be a Registered Dental Hygienist with a license in good standing to practice dental hygiene in the State of Texas or be able to obtain a license to practice Dental Hygiene in Texas upon employment. Copy of transcript conferring required degree and certifications must accompany application EXPERIENCE 1 year college level teaching experience or 3 years reputed company work experience required KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES 1. Willing and able to teach day or evening classes at a number of sites around the city. 2. Knowledge and reputed company in a variety of computer usage and software are required. 3. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively. 4. Possess good organizational and planning skills. 5.
