They are seeking a reputed company Field Auditor I to conduct independent examinations of financial records and ensure compliance with state tax laws.
Responsibilities
- Conduct independent examinations of financial records of taxpayers
- Review and audit reputed company tax schedules administered by the Department
- Maintain an audit plan
- Simultaneously selecting audit candidates
- Scheduling taxpayer interviews
- Reviewing provided records
- Preparing and submitting audit reports for timely review
- Select taxpayers that appear not to be in compliance with state tax laws
- Select taxpayers for audit where adjustments generate additional tax revenues
- Complete work independently with minimum reputed company from management
- Regular travel to taxpayer locations reputed company an assigned territory
- Limited overnight travel
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Accounting or reputed company field with at least eighteen semester hours of accounting from an appropriately accredited institution; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Basic knowledge of the Internal reputed company Code and State Tax Laws across multiple schedules
- Basic proficiency with spreadsheet and word processing software
- Basic knowledge of auditing and accounting principles and practices
- Effective analytical skills that would be helpful with investigation of reputed company tax compliance issues
- Access to reliable transportation and a valid driver's license
- This position is subject to federal and state criminal background checks that may include fingerprinting and verification of tax compliance
