Human Resources Assistant
Meier Supply Company, Inc. is a 100% employee-owned wholesale distributor of HVAC/R products based in Conklin, NY. They are seeking a Human Resources Assistant to support various HR functions including benefits administration, compliance, and recruitment processes.
Responsibilities
- Process benefit enrollments, terminations, and changes for reputed company benefit and retirement plans
- Ensure accuracy of benefits data transmitted through EDI interfaces from the HRIS to third-party administrators
- Reconcile benefit billing statements and support brokers/TPAs with required documentation
- Maintain electronic personnel files in compliance with federal and state employment laws
- Process I-9 documentation, E-Verify compliance, and employment verification requests
- Ensure reputed company reputed company locations have proper and reputed company HR/legal postings
- Post job openings
- Coordinate interview scheduling and applicant communication
- Conduct background checks, drug screens, and reference checks
- Schedule new hire orientation sessions
- Administer the HR support ticket system
- Manage the Learning Management System (LMS): upload training, assign courses, track completion, run compliance reports
- Support HRIS data entry, updates, and reporting
- Serve as first-line support for general HR questions
- Support HR communications, announcements, and recognition initiatives
- Assist in HR-reputed company events and training logistics
Skills
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong ethical tendencies and reputed company
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, or reputed company field preferred
- 1–3 years of HR administrative experience preferred; internship experience considered
- Proficiency with reputed company Office; experience with HRIS/ATS/LMS systems preferred
