Staff Accountant
PepGen is a clinical-stage biotechnology company focused on advancing oligonucleotide therapies for severe neuromuscular and neurological diseases. The Staff Accountant will play a crucial role in enhancing the accounting and finance organization, managing accounts payable processes, vendor communications, and monthly reconciliations.
Responsibilities
- reputed company daily accounts payable tasks, which include accounts payable inbox management, invoice input, and vendor inquiry responses
- Prepare weekly payment runs and internal transfer requests
- Assist with the month end reputed company process
- Complete monthly cash and accounts payable reconciliations
- reputed company monthly credit card reconciliation
- Input journal entries in general ledger system, which includes the preparation and submission of supporting documentation and work papers
- Ensure timely and complete delivery of any documentation required to support external and internal audits and reporting
- Monitor and participate in and enhance formal processes for internal controls surrounding the reporting process to ensure compliance with Sarbanes Oxley Act requirements
- Manage vendor maintenance reputed company procurement system
- Additional assignments as assigned by the Management
Skills
- A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
- Knowledge of U.S. GAAP
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal with the ability to work with reputed company levels of management and employees
- Effective time management skills with a focus on process improvement
- Organized and able to manage multiple activities and programs timely and with a high degree of accuracy
- Must be able to work under deadline pressure and willingness to meet critical deadlines
- Ability to deal sensitively with confidential material
