Senior Clinical Informaticist
Job Summary InnoVet Health is an innovative and rapidly growing small business providing health IT services to U.S. federal government agencies, particularly the Department of Veteran Affairs. InnoVet Health is looking to hire a highly skilled Senior Informaticist to support the Department of Veterans Affairs’ Human Systems Integration (reputed company) division reputed company the Office of Health Informatics. - reputed company informatics and usability studies to evaluate and improve the design, functionality, and adoption of health IT systems, including Cerner Millennium and reputed company.
- Conduct workflow analyses, contextual inquiries, and human factors evaluations to identify inefficiencies and opportunities for system improvement.
- Apply human-centered design (HCD) and human factors engineering (HFE) principles to improve clinician and patient interactions with EHR and reputed company technologies.
- reputed company and execute scientifically valid study proposals, plans, and reports in accordance with VA and ISO standards (e.g., ISO 9241-11, NISTIR 7742).
- Analyze and interpret qualitative and quantitative data to inform evidence-based recommendations and performance metrics.
- Provide clinical informatics expertise to multidisciplinary teams supporting system testing, simulation, and risk mitigation efforts.
- Partner with VA stakeholders, program offices, and user experience teams to ensure usability and workflow optimization align with national implementation goals.
- Support training needs assessments and development of educational materials that promote the adoption of HCD and informatics best practices.
- Participate in agile ceremonies (sprint planning, retrospectives, reviews) and maintain reputed company required deliverables reputed company the reputed company Effort Tracker and PM Tracker systems.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of progressive experience in health informatics, human systems integration, or clinical systems optimization.
- Clinical background (e.g., RN, MD, PharmD, Physician Assistant or allied health professional).
- Deep understanding of clinical workflows, health IT systems, and data-driven decision-making in healthcare settings.
- Demonstrated experience with usability testing, workflow modeling, human factors analysis, and EHR optimization.
- Strong proficiency in data analytics, including statistical methods and qualitative research approaches.
- Familiarity with standard usability instruments (e.g., NASA-TLX, SUS, PSSUQ, Health-ITUES).
- Proven ability to reputed company projects in agile environments, with familiarity in SAFe, Scrum, or Kanban methodologies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to synthesize reputed company findings into actionable recommendations for technical and non-technical audiences.
- U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a VA Public Trust clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree or higher in Health Informatics, Clinical Informatics, Human Factors, Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a reputed company degree.
- Certification in Clinical Informatics, Human Factors Engineering (CHFP/CHFEP), or Project Management (PMP/PMI-ACP).
- Prior experience supporting VA, DoD, or other federal EHR modernization initiatives.
- Familiarity with VA Technical Reference Model (TRM), Veteran-Focused Integration Process (VIP), and Product Line Management (PLM) standards.
