The VPFA reports directly to the President and works collaboratively with the co-director of the Department of Business Administration to provide strategic financial administrative leadership. The VPFA is responsible for the accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, tax compliance, cash and investments, insurance, risk mitigation, information technology and audit functions of the organization. Key Responsibilities: Financial Management (60%)

  • Work collaboratively with the President and Board of Directors on organizational fiscal strategy and execution.
  • Serve on the Senior Management Team to establish organizational priorities and workflow.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership in Advancement, Legal, and Programs to ensure financial responsibility, internal controls, and risk management through the organization.

General Business Administration and Risk Management (25%)

  • Co-direct the Department of Business Administration (BusAdmin) and co-supervise the BusAdmin staff with the VP of People, Culture and Equity (VPPCE).

  • Provide proactive, accurate and expeditious business advice that facilitates the achievement of non-profit business objectives and continuously supports, educates and advises leadership and staff on initiatives that meet the standards of the law, and ensure low risk, high-efficiency organizational management.
  • Supervise staff and third parties to ensure smooth day-to-day administration of the contract and risk management functions of the organization, including:

Requirements:

  • Degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a reputed company field or equivalent experience; master’s degree, MBA or CPA preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in nonprofit or mission-driven finance leadership.
  • Experience managing finance teams and building inclusive, accountable team culture.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, nonprofit financial regulations, grants management, and compliance.
  • Strategic thinker with excellent judgment, analysis, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated success advising senior leadership and boards on reputed company financial matters.

Salary and Benefits: This is a full-time salaried position with a salary range of: $164,690-$172,690.
