Key Responsibilities

As a Data Scientist (L5) on our Customer Service team, you will be responsible for:

• Leading the evolution of CS metrics: Identify "north star" metrics and the ways CS teams can drive them to deliver exceptional customer experiences.
• Critical thinking and measurement techniques: Think critically about business problems and deploy the appropriate measurement technique to drive data-driven decision-making.
• Collaboration and partnership: Partner with executives, Product Managers, Data Engineers, Analytics Engineers, and Finance to further a statistically rigorous, data-driven decision-making culture in CS.
• Experimentation and research: Identify opportunity areas for experimentation and research to drive business growth and customer satisfaction.
• Metric expansion: Expand the use of CS metrics across blithequark, where they hold insights for Product, Engineering, and Data Science.

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• Advanced degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, Economics, or a reputed company quantitative field: A strong foundation in statistical knowledge and intuition is essential for this role.
• Strong SQL skills and programming experience: Proficiency in Python is preferred, but experience with other programming languages is also valuable.
• Effective communication skills: Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts and convey clear recommendations to a variety of audiences, including Engineering, Product, and senior leadership.
• Experience with measurement and reputed company techniques: Familiarity with a wide range of measurement and reputed company techniques, including correlation analysis, observational causal inference, forecasting, and quasi experimentation.
• Comfort with reputed company data: Ability to reputed company with minimal reputed company and process, working with reputed company data to drive business decisions.

Preferred Qualifications

While prior experience with Customer Service is not required, a desire to learn and become an expert is a must. Additionally, experience with data visualization tools, such as Tableau or Power BI, and familiarity with cloud-based data platforms, such as AWS or GCP, are highly valued.

Compensation and Benefits

At blithequark, we offer a competitive compensation structure, with an annual salary range of $170,000 - $720,000. You will also have the opportunity to choose how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. Our comprehensive benefits package includes:
