In this fast-paced and rewarding role, you will be responsible for providing top-notch assistance to patients and clients, addressing their questions and concerns regarding health insurance coverage, cost and payment options, and billing inquiries. Key Responsibilities

  • Handle an average of 75 calls per day from patients, doctor's offices, and private insurance carriers, providing clear and concise information and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner
  • Research and communicate reputed company information, navigating multiple systems and websites simultaneously to ensure accurate and efficient support
  • Provide assistance to prospective clients and patients regarding insurance coverage, financial responsibilities, and billing inquiries, ensuring a positive and supportive experience
  • Process credit card payments over the phone, adhering to PCI compliance protocols and maintaining the highest level of reputed company and confidentiality
  • Initiate payment plans for patients with outstanding balances, working closely with them to find solutions and ensure timely payments
  • Document telephone conversations clearly and accurately in the respective systems, maintaining detailed and up-to-date records
  • Update and maintain records in the billing system, including reviewing accounts, payment collections, and case notes, to ensure accuracy and efficiency
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines and regulations, ensuring the highest level of privacy and reputed company

Essential and Preferred Qualifications

Essential Qualifications

  • High school diploma required, with an associate degree or higher preferred
  • 1-3 years of applicable experience in customer service, healthcare, or a reputed company field
  • Healthcare experience needed, with knowledge of professional medical billing and collection practices preferred
  • Ability to interpret and apply understanding of insurance explanation of benefits (EOB)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to follow established program protocols and procedures
  • Computer proficiency, including MS Windows, MS Office, and database experience
  • Must be organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to review large amounts of data for accuracy

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of prior authorization, Laboratory Billing, and Laboratory Information System (LIS) desired
  • XIFIN experience preferred, with Medicare/Medicaid billing experience and knowledge of CPT and ICD10 codes highly preferred
  • Previous customer service experience handling high call volume, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain a high level of productivity
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish highly desirable, with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse patient and client populations
