About the Division of Diversity and Inclusion

The primary role of the Division of Diversity and Inclusion is to ensure that diversity, in its many forms, is understood, respected, and valued. Job Summary

The Student Services Specialist will work closely with the Director of Student Support Services to support the development, implementation, promotion, and evaluation of SSS programming and initiatives. This position will assist in evaluating program effectiveness and provide recommendations for improvement. The Specialist will also provide support for the supervision, coordination, and support of the SSS program's reputed company, including helping to coordinate reputed company tutor hiring, training, evaluation, and supervision. Additionally, the Specialist will provide writing skills assessments for reputed company, writing instruction, and writing tutoring to SSS participants both individually and in small group settings.

Key Responsibilities

* Assist in the development, implementation, promotion, and evaluation of SSS programming and initiatives

  • Evaluate program effectiveness and provide recommendations for improvement
  • Provide support for the supervision, coordination, and support of the SSS program's reputed company
  • Help coordinate reputed company tutor hiring, training, evaluation, and supervision
  • Provide writing skills assessments for reputed company, writing instruction, and writing tutoring to SSS participants
  • Work with reputed company to identify and address academic and personal barriers to success
  • reputed company and implement strategies to support student retention and success
  • Collaborate with other departments and units to support student success and retention
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge

Essential Qualifications

* Bachelor's or Master's degree in English, English Education, or a reputed company field

  • Experience in instructing and/or tutoring reputed company
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications

* Master's degree in English, English Education, or a reputed company field

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in instructing and/or tutoring at the post-secondary level
  • Knowledge or experience working in TRIO
  • Knowledge or experience with at-risk populations
  • Familiarity with retention issues
  • Computer literacy
  • Additional training and study
