Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and passionate 6th Grade Teacher to join our team in a remote learning environment. Key Responsibilities

As a 6th Grade Teacher, you will be responsible for:

• Managing and educating students while helping them discover and fulfill their potential
• Developing and implementing creative and engaging lesson plans
• Documenting and sharing student grades and evaluations
• Cultivating a creative learning environment and maintaining a safe, inviting, and nurturing space for students, staff, and the community
• Setting and maintaining standards of classroom behavior and upholding District discipline policies
• Enhancing Peoria Unified's culture by encouraging and strengthening parent and community partnerships
• Fostering positive relationships with students, teachers, parents, and community members
• Adhering to effective policies, practices, and accountability of District resources
• Maintaining accurate and complete records required by law, District policy, and administrative regulation
• Striving to maintain and improve professional competence

Requirements

To be considered for this position, you must:

• Hold a valid intern, provisional, or standard Arizona Teaching Certificate; or possess the necessary qualifications to become certified in the state of Arizona
• Obtain an Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
• Pass a fingerprint and background clearance check
• Be able to obtain and maintain a valid government-issued ID
• Be able to lift and carry heavy, bulky supplies and materials weighing up to 20 pounds
• Be able to lift students weighing up to 60 pounds
• Be able to work outside normal working hours
• Be able to travel to perform work functions
