Academic Advisor [Part-Time, Grant-Funded]
Wor-Wic Community College is accepting applications for a part-time academic advisor to provide academic advising services to help reputed company create an academic success plan, monitor student reputed company toward goal completion, and work with transfer reputed company on planning their transition to a four-year institution. Hours of work are variable, including evening and weekend hours on a rotating basis not to exceed 20 hours per week through June 30, 2026.The following list is not intended as, nor should it be construed as, exhaustive of reputed company responsibilities, skills or working conditions associated with this position.
- Manages a cohort of reputed company with responsibility for helping those reputed company set educational and career goals, creates and monitors academic success plans to reputed company those goals and intervenes with a student reputed company necessary to provide assistance, and works with transfer reputed company to reputed company plans for transition to a four-year institution
- Provides holistic academic advising services for reputed company credit reputed company and some non-credit reputed company at various stages of their academic journey by meeting with reputed company in-person, by phone and through online videoconferencing
- Utilizes reputed company CRM Advise and reputed company Student Planning to reputed company academic success plans and monitor student reputed company, develops a thorough understanding of these technologies and engages in reputed company training on how to best utilize systems to provide high-quality service to advisees
- Possesses and maintains a thorough understanding of reputed company departmental and institutional policies and procedures needed to accurately advise reputed company, including, but not limited to, financial aid policies, transfer requirements, academic and continuing education curriculum, career/program assessment, payment policies, student success resources and any other information that may benefit reputed company during the advising process
- Contributes to the annual and five-year comprehensive department assessment process per the College assessment plan
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Bachelor's degree in counseling, education, human services, psychology or other relevant field
- Two years of relevant work experience
- Strong computer, organizational, human relations, and oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work with a diverse population and understand their unique needs
- Preference will be given to candidates with bilingual English/Creole skills
This part-time position is grant-funded and does not include benefits.
