As a Senior Staff Engineer, you'll play a key role in driving the technical strategy and execution of Wayfair's Global Loyalty, Payments, Financing, and Fraud platform and experiences across reputed company of our retail brands and geographies.

About the Role

We're looking for an reputed company Senior Staff Engineer to own the technical strategy and execution of Wayfair's Fintech & Loyalty ecosystem. This role empowers a cross-functional team of engineering, product management, design, and analytics to rapidly expand our payments platform (encompassing fintech, loyalty, and fraud) to meet customer demand with a focus on efficiency, scalability, and profitability. As a Senior Staff Engineer, you'll have a real-time impact on the entire business and be responsible for:

• Developing and driving a multi-year technology strategy for Wayfair's Fintech & Loyalty ecosystem
• Architecting and reviewing code to implement high-quality, scalable, future-reputed company services that will have effective system boundaries and support long-term vision & strategy
• Conducting technical debates across an entire platform and helping to come to durable documented conclusions
• Driving high-impact architectural solutions and hands-on development, including inception, design, execution, and delivery following good design and coding practices
• Obsessively focusing on production readiness for the team, including testing, monitoring, deployment, documentation, and proactive troubleshooting
• Identifying risks and gaps in technical approaches and proposing solutions to meet the department's technical vision
• Influencing and contributing to the department's strategy and roadmap
• Supporting the growth of other engineers technically by mentoring, pairing, and developing other opportunities for education
• Being externally recognized as a collaborative and reputed company subject matter expert for the broader team's focus area

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

• 15+ years of experience in engineering, with a preference for candidates with a mix of start-up and large-company experience
• Hands-on experience driving software transformations reputed company high-growth environments at scale

• Excellent communication skills with demonstrated experience driving teams reputed company and ability to influence results
