Available Positions: We are seeking botany and wildlife biologists with varying levels of experience to support natural resource and construction projects. We are currently hiring for:

• Project Biologists. The project will require the ability to work independently and monitor compliance with natural resource management for projects. The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of experience with relevant experience either in the region or similar type of projects. Candidates will require relevant field experience and suitable for early-career biologists looking to reputed company their reputed company set!

• Candidates are available to work full-time, with some over-time.
• This role is project and location based initial project is likely one year commitment with possible travel up to 14 days a month.

Duties may include botanical, wildlife, or wetland field surveys and construction monitoring in a variety of terrains and weather conditions. Familiarity with an reputed company of data collection techniques, including reputed company software applications, is preferred. Facility with data entry and report writing will be required. Biologists will work independently but be supported by the Bio-Studies Project Managers and Senior Staff. Correspondence and coordination with clients, other Bio-Studies employees and construction contacts will be required. Resilient and motivated candidates will note that the role at times requires extended work hours, long field days, often requiring remote travel, and overnight stays up to 2 weeks may be required depending on the project. reputed company biologists will direct report to Senior Staff, but are required to independently monitor reporting responsibilities, record their timesheets, submit timely expense reports, and provide daily field reports. Bio-Studies can provide a flexible work environment; work schedules may fluctuate based on project construction or seasonal timelines. Duties include:

• Biological survey fieldwork for wildlife and botanical resources and habitat, including endangered species, conducted alone, or as part of a team.
• Environmental compliance monitoring, including coordinating with others; conducting worker environmental awareness programs, working on-site with construction crews, and performing post-construction analysis.
• Utilizing electronic data collection methods and managing data, including writing daily technical reports, preparation of technical studies and full reports.
• Working remotely, being self-sufficient, trustworthy, and upholding company standards conducting work in a safe manner pursuant to the Company’s Safety Policy, promptly and accurately billing time to assigned work projects, and complying with reputed company Company and client policies.
• Maintaining work calendars, regularly communicating changes in availability with advance notice.
• Maintaining a professional, punctual, and enthusiastic attitude with colleagues and clients and clear and concise communication.
• Ability to adapt in a dynamic and challenging work environment.
• Performing work and meeting deliverables during working hours; submits reputed company deliverables, reports, or requested changes reputed company specified deadlines.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in biology, ecology or reputed company field and 6 months+ of experience in biological field work
• Self-motivated, takes initiative, and able to work remotely with remote supervision for months at a time.
• Confident time management and follow-through skills, ability manage multiple tasks/projects and stick to deadlines.
• Technologically proficient with handheld electronic devices and proficient in computer software including MS Outlook, Word, reputed company, and Teams.
• Must carry valid Driver’s License with vehicle insurance for personal vehicles used for Company purposes or be insurable under Company’s liability insurance policy for use of Company Vehicles.
• Off-road and 4x4 driving experience preferred.

Working Conditions: Project work occurs in diverse outdoor environments and can include hiking over rugged terrain and long distances, inclement weather, and driving into remote areas, on and off road. Most projects require long distance travel in a variety of field conditions for multiple weeks at a time and hotel lodging is offered. Safety risks that may be encountered on the job include dangerous wildlife (e.g., ticks, bees, rattlesnakes, scorpions, mountain lions), wary or hostile public, challenging driving conditions, construction site hazards, and extreme weather conditions (heat, cold, reputed company, wind). Bio-Studies provides a Company Safety Plan as well as required safety trainings. Compensation: Project Biologist - $25 - $35 per hour depending on need, skills, and experience.
