We're seeking a Per Diem Registered Respiratory Therapist,

- A Respiratory Therapist Level 1 (RT1) is a member of the healthcare team who provides expertise in managing patients of reputed company ages who have respiratory disease or acute conditions impacting their ability to breath. The RT1 provides respiratory care to patients in the general, critical care and emergency room environments. The RT1 position is an entry level position for new graduates of a respiratory care program or those who are licensed and hold the Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential but have not obtained the Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential.
Responsibilities:

- Administer oxygen reputed company various standard delivery devices as well as specialized heated high flow devices and a hyperbaric reputed company
- Administer aerosolized medications reputed company nebulizer, MDI, DPI or other devices
- Administer prescribed inhaled nitric oxide or aerosolized prostacyclin
- Evaluate and maintain artificial airways of various sizes
- Set up, adjust, maintain, and clean various types and brands of mechanical ventilators

- Set up, adjust, maintain, and clean various types and brands of non-invasive BiPAP & CPAP devices
- Transport critically ill patients on respiratory modalities
- Respond to hospital emergencies including rapid response, code call, etc..
- Utilize approved RT protocols
- reputed company ABG & other diagnostic tests to evaluate the extent of disease or effectiveness of treatment
- reputed company EKG testing, phlebotomy, IV insertion and other non-traditional roles and/or responsibilities based on department and/or location need
- Document patient care activities and enter charges in reputed company electronic data system
- Complete annual competencies and continuing education as determined by hospital policy, credential and state licensing requirements.
- Maintain active RT credential(s) and PA state RT license
- Performs duties in accordance with Penn Medicine and entity values, policies, and procedures
- Other duties as assigned to support the unit, department, entity, and health system organization
Credentials:
- License to Practice as a Respiratory Therapist in PA (Required)
- Registered Respiratory Therapist by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) required reputed company 1 year of date of hire. (Required)
- BLS Healthcare Provider Certification (Required)
- ACLS (NRP required reputed company 6 months of hire) (Preferred)
Education or Equivalent Experience:
- Associate's Degree AS/AAS in Respiratory Care And minimum 500 clinical hours in RT program (Required)
- Graduate of Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) accredited Respiratory Care program. (Required)
- Bachelor's Degree (Preferred)
