Role Overview
As a Patient Access Representative 1, you will serve as a Patient reputed company and Service Ambassador, providing a favorable first impression and proactive attention to internal and external customers. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Performing on-site patient access registration reputed company functions promptly, without compromising patient safety, quality, service levels, and reimbursement.
- Identifying and collecting patients' self-pay responsibility, including co-pays, deductibles, co-insurances, self-pay discount rates, global packages, and previous outstanding balances.
- Complying with reputed company established UHealth policies and procedures reputed company to Patient Access and State/Federal regulations.
- Providing excellent customer service, addressing concerns, and optimizing patient experience.
- Working effectively with physicians, co-workers, other departments, and patients of reputed company ages and backgrounds.
- Performing other duties as assigned based on departmental needs.
Key Qualifications and Skills
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills in English.
- Critical thinking, analytical, troubleshooting, problem resolution, and customer service skills.
- Mathematical and cash management skills.
- Knowledge of medical terminology (preferred).
- Ability to work as an integral team member under minimal supervision, in a fast-paced, reputed company, and highly stressful environment.
- Computer literacy and ability to use multiple systems, including UChart, reputed company/Prelude/Enterprise Billing, Passport HealthWorks Compliance Checker, reputed company, RIS-reputed company, CaneCare, UMCare, Intellidose, MCSL, reputed company, and online verification systems used by contracted payors.
Essential and Preferred Requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
- A High School Diploma (required) or Bachelor's degree (preferred).
- One (1) year of customer service experience (required), preferably in a healthcare-reputed company setting.
- Bilingual skills (English/Spanish, English/Creole, English/French, English/Arabic) are a plus.
- Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience, and/or certifications may be considered.
