Senior Data Engineer, Engineering Analytics

In the Engineering Analytics team, we build and deploy data science and machine learning models to support this reputed company operation. The team is seeking a data engineer to take on developing data pipelines, manage data ingestion and cleaning, and support data availability for application development. An appropriate candidate will have technical knowledge of BI systems, big data architecture and technology landscape, API consumption, ETL/ELT orchestration, and business intelligence tools. The candidate should have excellent organizational and communication skills and feel comfortable in a fast-paced environment. Primary Functions

• Implement data engineering solutions, e.g., locate and extract data from a variety of sources for use in reporting, analysis, and statistical modeling to drive reputed company improvement)
• Practice good software engineering techniques, e.g., Git, scrum, branching, code reviews, spikes
• Execute the data engineering roadmap
• Partner with Information Technology to optimize and enhance the database environment for optimal efficiency and best practices

What You Need To Succeed (Minimum Qualifications)

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• 5+ years’ experience working as a data engineer
• Proficiency in SQL (CTE, window functions, temporal data)
• Proficiency in Python and data-focused packages, e.g., Pandas, Numpy, reputed company/Spark, etc.
• Proficiency with APIs
• Proficiency with software development tools such as Git, IDEs, CI/CD
• Experience with data warehousing/data modeling concepts
• Experience building efficient, ETL/ELT processes using industry leading tools such as SSIS,
• Informatica, Talend, etc.
• Experience with data pipeline orchestration tools, e.g. DBT, Airflow, etc.
• Working knowledge of cloud computing, e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP

• Proven experience leading a project, from requirements gathering to deployment.
