Data Engineer (m/f/d)

We support our customers in making buildings more climate-friendly, more comfortable and more affordable with connected real estate, simple products and high processing and service quality. We provide our customers with efficient, tailored processes and applications for operating IoT infrastructures in real estate, as well as our flexible Enterprise-IoT-Suite, in which we manage data from many millions of sensors into intelligent products and services.With a team of product and IT experts, the future position holder will be responsible for further developing beyonnex’s Enterprise-IoT-Suite and services to ensure a stable and scalable technological foundation for the strategic development of the group of companies. In addition, the following tasks will be part of your position:

• Design scalable, maintainable cloud-based data lake architectures and choosing appropriate data formats and partitioning strategies.
• Define and maintain schemas, data catalogs, and metadata 
• Ensure data quality, apply schema evolution, and implement modular data models
• Implement access controls and permission policies

• Build ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest data from databases, APIs, flat files, or real-time event streams.

• Process and transform large-scale data in batch or streaming mode 

• Clean, normalize, and join datasets to enable analytics and machine learning

• Automate workflows using DAG-based tools 

• Implement error handling, alerting, retries, and SLAs

• Monitor pipeline health and performance using logging and metrics systems.

We are searching for a motivated candidate with following qualifications:

• Master-Degree (or better) in Mathematics, Computer Science or related fields / comparable education.
• At least five years of work experience in data engineering 
• Strong analytical mindset and skills

• You are competent with Git, CI/CD for data, containers/IaC basics and are comfortable with warehouse / lakehouse patterns.

• You have strong verbal and written communication skills and you are able to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

• New technologies awaken your interest and you have the ability to adapt to changing product requirements.

Nice-to-haves

• Project experience with data analysis from environmental sensors and metering data.
• German language skills or the willingness to learn German are a plus
