Essential Qualifications

To succeed as a Sylvan Teacher, you'll need:

• Four-Year Degree or Equivalent: A degree in a relevant field, or equivalent experience, is required.
• Teaching Credentials: State or provincial teaching credentials are preferred, although not always required.
• Teaching Experience: A minimum of one to two years of teaching experience is preferred, although we're open to considering candidates with less experience who demonstrate a strong passion for teaching.
• Knowledge of Subject Area: For Language Arts and Study Skills Program Teachers, knowledge of phonics and reading comprehension is preferred. For Math Program Teachers, a strong background in math is required.
