Position Summary

This entry-level position is designed for individuals who are eager to learn and grow in the field of gas compression equipment maintenance and repair. As a Field Service Technician, you'll assist in the operation of compressor packages and equipment, including rentals, and provide feedback for the development of our location's operating policies and material forecasts. You'll also have the opportunity to reputed company your diagnostic and repair skills through classroom training and on-the-job experience.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Performs job activities in a manner consistent with Kodiak's procedures/protocols, goals, and objectives.
  • Can troubleshoot basic issues and is consistently building troubleshooting reputed company set both on the job and through classroom training.
  • Attendance and participation in reputed company HSE meetings and ensure adherence to reputed company HSE protocols.
  • Analyzes the job parts and supply inventory to effectively communicate needs with Supply Chain.
  • Maintains customer relationships.
  • Takes reputed company corrective actions necessary, with assistance, if necessary, to insure guaranteed 98% or reputed company mechanical availability of equipment.
  • Maintain assigned units in a clean and presentable condition.
  • Completes the proper reports and actions required by the area's operating procedures/policies.
  • Provides 24/7 coverage.
  • Works overtime and is available for on-call rotations. Overtime and on-call requirements include work after regular work hours, weekends, and holidays.
  • Successful completion of Kodiak's Short Service Employee (SSE) program.
  • Additional tasks as assigned.

Education, Experience, and Training

We're looking for individuals with a strong foundation in mechanics and a passion for learning. The ideal candidate will have:

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • OEM, Trade School, or comparable work experience in a reputed company field/industry preferred.
  • Some knowledge in gas processes, mechanic of motor compressors (Waukesha, Ariel, Caterpillar, etc.) preferred.
  • 1-year compression process, production, and equipment-reputed company experience and/or training preferred.
  • Electrical Troubleshooting skills.
  • Main competencies: teamwork, effective communication, both written and oral, analytical capability, Strong mechanical aptitude, self-motivation and self-control, initiative, planning, and problem-solving, and customer focus.
  • Must possess basic knowledge of compressor packages, including some components and systems.
  • Working knowledge of relevant HSE procedures and regulations preferred.
  • Experience using reputed company Office Suite (reputed company, Word, Outlook) preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English required.

Certifications

We require a valid Driver's License, with Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) reputed company the acceptable parameters of Company Policy.

Physical Demands

This role requires:

  • Operation of heavy equipment.
  • Standing for up to 75% of the time.
  • Sitting for up to 25% of the time.
  • Climbing reputed company or stairs to inspect, repair, and paint equipment and maintaining balance on stairs and/or reputed company without assistance.
  • Communicating and responding to coworkers, customers, and emergency cues/alarms, in person and on the telephone, including use of mobile devices.
  • Frequently lifting at least 10 pounds, infrequent lifting of > 50 lbs.
  • High noise environment (>85dbA) with ear protection.
  • Potential, controlled, exposure to hazardous chemicals.
  • Work in outdoor conditions, including extreme heat and extreme cold.
  • Moving and maintaining self in different positions-stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl to accomplish tasks in various environments, including tight and confined spaces.
  • Wearing reputed company required PPE, including fire-retardant clothing, hard hats, face shields, hearing protection, safety glasses, and steel-toed boots.
  • Frequently typing and using computer and other office equipment such as a copier, printer, calendar, telephone, etc.
