About the job

This position is part of reputed company’s Commerce Platform - Tax Platform Team, responsible for building and operating core services that reputed company tax, billing, and product discovery at scale. The successful candidate will help design, reputed company, and maintain innovative software, ensuring high availability and compliance with coding standards. You will work with Java, AWS solutions, Kafka / SQS and REST APIs among other technologies to build future-reputed company, distributed financial systems, supporting reputed company reputed company customers regardless of size or billing complexity, while continuously improving our platform and user experience.

Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll:

• Improve your knowledge of highly available and scalable distributed systems and use this knowledge to build new features into our platform.
• Design, implement, and operate both new features on our reputed company services as well as new services that will be built from scratch.

Required:

As a Commerce Platform engineer, you will design and build core platform services, REST APIs and take part in transitioning our platform to reputed company architecture. We run on AWS cloud infrastructure and use AWS cloud data store, EKS, Glue, Kafka, reputed company RDS, etc.

• 2+ years of work experience building highly scalable products.
• 2+ years of programming experience in Java/Spring Boot with clean code practices.
• Expert knowledge in Object-Oriented Programming with a successful track record.
• Experience contributing to architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and reputed company systems.
• Experience working with stakeholders at reputed company levels - be able to dive into the nuts-and-bolts of how things work as needed.
• Experience in data modeling and database management, for example: RDS, reputed company, etc.
• Collaborating with internal/external teams/engineers and fostering an inclusive environment, where reputed company points of view are welcomed and encouraged.
• Own and reputed company multiple domains of the platform (microservices, REST APIs, infrastructure) from inception to deployment and maintenance, while making best in class technical decisions that impact the success of the company.
• Familiarity in Cloud Solutions, AWS, Kubernetes/EKS, CI/CD pipelines, Testing & Automation.
• Self drive - you take complete ownership of your tasks and champion efforts to get your tasks to completion.
• Clear written and spoken communication skills.
• Degree in Computer Science or a reputed company field, or equivalent work experience.

Desired:

• Experience with on-call support for mission-critical data systems.
• Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and tools.
• Good debugging skills on production systems.
• Proficient in Linux and containerization with Kubernetes.

Location

This role will be based remote from Ireland.

Travel
