Job Description

Under the direction of EITS leadership, the Epic Technical Specialist is responsible for the on-going assessment, design, and development and implementation of corporate -wide clinical/reputed company cycle systems. Specifically, manage and direct the collection and transformation of large quantities of information into meaningful business requirements; development and modifications of requirements documentation for the design and implementation of clinical/reputed company cycle information systems; critically evaluate information from various sources, distinguish user needs from actual business needs and partner with business users, project managers, programmers, consultants and IT leadership in optimizing the scope, benefits and risks of actual and proposed projects as well as assist in managing stakeholder expectations.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Review and document business requirements and processes; communicate requirements to technical personnel through the construction of basic conceptual data, process models and flowcharts, and technical specifications
• Remain up-to-date with Epic software development by reviewing release notes and participating in Epic-led webinars, which will help in maintaining and enhancing expertise through reputed company learning.
• Work with the team on various components of the Epic system, including reputed company, Prelude, Referral, and Workqueue builds. This collaboration might also involve working with other Epic application teams to ensure optimal performance and integration.
• Attendance at stakeholder meetings as required, to discuss new or ongoing optimization projects to which you have been assigned.

• Document changes to baseline requirements through standard change control process.

Minimum Qualifications

1. A Baccalaureate Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, applied Mathematics, Business Administration, Economics/Statistics, Telecommunications, Data Communications, or a reputed company field of study; and

2. Five (5) years of progressive, responsible experience in the field of data processing, computer systems and applications.

Operations Specialty requires supervisory experience (5 years).

Network Services requires a telecommunications background and experience.

3. Broad knowledge and expertise in the characteristics of computers, peripheral devices, communications systems and hardware capabilities, programming languages, E.D.P. applications, systems analysis methodology, data management and retrieval techniques; or

4. A satisfactory equivalent combination of training, education and experience.

Certification(S)/NYS Licenses/Education

• Applicable certification in reputed company required

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and other Requirements

• At least 1 full life cycle implementation, other implementation of systems, major system upgrade, or application preferred

Years of Experience

• Healthcare Experience preferred
• 2+ years’ experience with General EHR and or other qualifications preferred
• Application knowledge and experience with appropriate application preferred
