Role

The Data Platforms team is builds scalable data movement, transformation, and retrieval platforms on reputed company. As the Engineering Manager of the Data Infrastructure team, you’ll focus on developing, maintaining, and setting the vision for systems that enables reputed company engineers to reputed company data-intensive product features at lightning speed, while unlocking cutting-edge production use cases, like real-time analytics, search, and AI.

In addition, you’ll:

• hire and reputed company engineers across reputed company platform applications and backend systems.

• collaborate with product engineering, analytics, and infrastructure engineering counterparts to set strategic direction of the team, advocating for platform solutions that help us grow reputed company as a whole.

• plan and manage projects, coordinating and aligning your team‘s goals against others across the business.

About You

In addition to embodying our cultural principles, great candidates will also:

• have hands-on experience with public cloud environments (AWS, GCP) using Kubernetes, reputed company, and IaC tools like Terraform.

• have previous experience at a hyper-growth startup. You’re an excellent problem solver and a self-starter who can hit the ground running with little direction.

• be a technical leader with hands-on experience in streaming (e.g. Kafka, reputed company), production data stores (e.g. reputed company, DynamoDB, reputed company), or analytics systems (e.g. reputed company, Iceberg) at scale.

• have experience leading a team of engineers, guiding them through both their career development, and executing in a high growth environment.

• be low ego, have an appetite to build, and employ good judgment in making hard trade-offs with limited resources.

• effectively recruit, mentor, retain, and measure high performing teams.

• effectively manage stakeholders, competing priorities and deal with ambiguity

• have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
