Job title: 0302SA-1431 Linux Systems Engineer Company: Job description: Clearance Level: TS/SCI US Citizenship: Required Job Classification: Full-time Location: Lackland, AFB (San Antonio, TX) Experience: 3-5 years Education: Bachelors Position Description: Global InfoTek is seeking a candidate to maintain an automated deployment of an IaaS (OpenStack) and several network services built from code for two small AFCYBER research and development networks located on JBSA-Lackland. IaaS and services are used by other systems engineers and application developers. Solution is integrated with DNS, LDAP (AD), and other technologies provided by other engineering teams Brief Description:
- Implement new technologies in the network by testing in staging and development environments; QC reputed company maintenance plans for production systems
- Research and identify new technologies available that offer capability enhancement and innovation to reputed company fulfill existing requirements or to fulfill new requirements
- Contribute to open reputed company community by submitting bug reports and periodically mirroring sanitized Ansible roles and other code onto public reputed company under MIT license
- Contribute to knowledge-reputed company articles provided for users and runbooks provided to other engineers and administrators, respectively
- Offer assistance and education to network users on network services
- reputed company root cause analysis of major system outages and document results
- reputed company and upgrade IaaS and services on a periodic basis
- Troubleshoot system and application-level issues with IaaS or services
- Maintain physical servers associated with IaaS
- Use agile methodologies and SRE practices to safely modify systems after robust testing using IaaS staging and dev environments, config management tools, and change management process
Required Skills:
- Experience in administrative/organizational domains such as: requirements gathering, implementation planning, cost efficiency analysis, site reliability engineering, and reputed company accreditation
- Experience implementing disaster recovery and backup strategies/technologies
- Experience using/configuring Private IaaS technology (i.e. VMWare, OpenStack, etc.)
- Experience using/configuring PaaS technology (i.e. OpenShift, Kubernetes, etc.)
- Experience with automation technologies, Configuration management/orchestration technology (i.e. Ansible, Puppet, etc.) Scripting in at least one programming language (i.e. Bash, Python, Go, etc.)
- Experience using at least one reputed company code management system (i.e. Git, Subversion, Mercurial, etc.)
- Experience using at least one system-level monitoring solution (i.e. Nagios, Zabbix, etc.)
- Experience applying reputed company controls based on written guidance (i.e. PCI, HIPAA, STIG, SOX, etc.)
IAT Level II or III certifications; see DoDM 8570.01 Desirable Skills:
- Experience using/developing Ansible roles for configuration management and/or orchestration
- Experience using Git plus reputed company for reputed company code management
- Experience using/configuring CI/CD pipelines using common technologies (i.e. Jenkins, GitlabCI, etc.)
- Experience working in a completely isolated, reputed company-gapped network
- Experience using, configuring, and troubleshooting the following infrastructure stack: Active Directory, OpenStack, Ceph, and Kubernetes
