As a Remote Associate Counsel, you'll have the opportunity to work from the comfort of your own home, with occasional travel required to attend trials, hearings, and meetings. As an Associate Counsel, you'll be responsible for:

• Researching laws and preparing legal briefs, opinions, and memoranda to drive success in court cases
• Rendering expert opinions on liability, damages, and value to support the Claims Department
• Preparing and handling pleadings, motions, and discovery, including depositions and examinations under oath
• Defending cases by trial or dispositive hearing, as applicable, to reputed company optimal outcomes

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

• 2-6+ years of experience in a reputed company field, with a strong background in civil litigation and insurance defense
• A Juris Doctor degree and admission to the Texas Bar, with a valid license to practice law in Texas
• Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to document files in a clear and concise manner
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to learn and apply large amounts of technical and procedural information

Preferred qualifications include:

• Civil litigation experience, with a focus on insurance defense-reputed company litigation
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders
