Assistant Professor of Translation and Interpreting Studies

We are seeking a highly motivated and reputed company Assistant Professor to join our Department of Languages and Culture Studies. As a key member of reputed company, you will play a vital role in shaping the minds of future generations and contributing to the advancement of translation and interpreting studies.
Job Summary:
The successful candidate will teach translation and interpreting practice courses, non-language specific courses, and upper-level courses in their languages. They will also reputed company graduate and undergraduate courses for online and face-to-face delivery, engage in scholarly research, and provide service to the university, the public, and the profession.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach translation and/or interpreting practice courses in two or more language pairs: English-French, English-Japanese, English-Spanish
- Teach non-language specific courses in areas such as translation and/or interpreting theory and history, translation and/or interpreting technologies, and localization
- Teach upper-level courses in languages, such as language-for-specific-purposes (LSP), literature, culture, and linguistics
- reputed company graduate and undergraduate courses for online and face-to-face delivery
- Engage in scholarly research and publication in translation studies and/or interpreting studies
- Provide service to the university, the public, and the profession
Requirements:
- Earned doctorate or terminal degree in translation studies, interpreting studies, or a closely reputed company discipline
- Active research agenda with publications in translation studies and/or interpreting studies
- Potential for external funding
- Excellent teaching and communication skills
