As a Preschool Educator with Lutheran Services Florida, you will be responsible for:

• Planning and implementing daily lesson plans that cater to the educational and enrichment needs of pre-school age children
• Creating a safe and effective learning environment, including arranging classrooms into distinctive learning areas
• Screening and assessing children to determine developmental and educational needs, and developing individual education plans
• Monitoring meal and snack periods, classroom and restroom activities, and playground activities to ensure a safe environment
• Communicating with parents through conferences, written correspondence, and telephone to keep them informed of their child's progress
• Conducting health checks, reporting health concerns, and maintaining accurate records
• Ensuring lessons and classroom activities align with the Florida Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten Standards
• Maintaining a comprehensive and ongoing portfolio assessment for each child

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• An Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field
• Two years of experience teaching Head Start, Early Head Start, pre-school, or kindergarten age children
• Working knowledge of brain development, child development, and culture and practices for early childhood
• Excellent communication and supervisory skills
• The ability to plan, organize, and conduct early childhood education programs
• Bilingual skills (English/Spanish or English and other languages present in the local area) are preferred
